Dissmissed DWI part 3. Court system
As most of you know, I got arrested for a DWI last year, 2 days before St. Patricks Day. Well this is how the trial or dismissal went Ok, so Im out of county and stuff, and this letter comes in. Its the lawyer I chose to have represented me. It asks if I need a lawyer, and I say yes. I pay him the $500 retainer, and owe him $1,500 for the rest. Which is fine, because it costs $3,000 to get your license back if convicted. So I get a court date a couple of months later, and my lawyer goes and pleads not guilty as I had previously asked. So a few months later, I get my first court appearance, except that it was set for trial, and my lawyer had asked for a suppression hearing, so it gets rescheduled. So I get another date, but it gets rescheduled again, and then two more times. My lawyer tells me since I didnt blow, or do the tests, unless I look blatantly drunk on the tape, which isnt always on, they had no case. So eventually I got my suppression hearing, and there was no evidence, so the case was dismissed. So now I just got to get my license back, which was suspended, and unfortunately with my luck, has expired during the suspension. So in summation, dont get caught drinking and driving, but it you do, refuse the tests, and get a good lawyer, like the one I had. He was pretty good the whole time, so I definitely recommend him. Heres his card, incase you ever need it. Hopefully you wont.

Incase you can't read the number, it's (956)-682-3451
